Week 1: 2016 New Years Revolution Program

HAPPY NEW YEAR and Thank You for Joining our Revolution Challenge!

Detox & Nourish:

After the Holidays, I think we all can agree that we are in need of a good cleanse.  Food, stress, finances, and relationships have all left a mark on our physical and spiritual wellbeing this season.  So, let's get intentional about cleaning things up so we can thrive and live vibrant lives.

Did you know that there are two key factors that contribute to disease, illness and the overall breakdown of a human body & soul? These elements are:

  1. Toxicity
  2. Deficiency

So while it's important to cleanse your system by eliminating and removing toxic input, it's equally important to nourish, put-on, and incorporate healing qualities to address shortcomings. Each week we will examine a different aspect of our lives that need to be detoxed & nourished.

This week, I want to focus on removing the toxic input of the enemy from our lives and restoring our souls with the strength and might of God. In John 10:10, Jesus says, "the thief's purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life."  The devil is toxic to us and our God is life-giving and victorious. Whether we want to admit it or not we are in a great battle. We have a target on our backs and we have an invisible enemy that seeks to destroy us. This battle is not against flesh and bone. It's not your husband, your strong-willed child, your financial circumstance, or your annoying co-worker that's the problem. In Ephesians 6:12, the Bible says that the source of our problems is the devil- and we "fight against spiritual forces of evil in heavenly places". The devil is poisoning us, dividing us, making us sick and ineffective for God.

Let's strip away his influence in our lives and utilize the supernatural weapons that God has given us to claim victory. Our nourishment is prayer and our weapon is God's own armor.

Read Isaiah 59:17-18. This is a powerful description of the armor that God clothes Himself with. Now read Ephesians 6:10-18. This is Paul's description of the weapons/armor that God gives us to fight the devil effectively.

We will cover each piece of the armor of God in detail in the coming weeks. Ready your hearts sweet sisters and start to pray today. Prayer activates the armor of God, fuels our victory and nourishes our souls. Let's pursue this fight fervently.
